Vesper Marine Announces Cortex Update

Marine electronics manufacturer Vesper Marine announced new features for existing and new Cortex owners with the upcoming release of an automatic software update – version 1.5.Designed to be future-proof, Cortex is built on a feature-rich and extremely powerful platform that will grow with new capabilities. Software updates are installed via the Cortex Onboard app and the latest version includes Directional Voice Alerts, Boat Network, Auto Orientation and an easy-to-use Setup Walkthrough.“When we created Cortex, we didn’t hold back,” said Brady Cox, CEO, Vesper Marine.

B&G Updates Chartplotters with Weather Services

B&G, a sailing navigation and instrument specialist, has announced new software updates that will bring PredictWind weather services direct to Zeus and Vulcan chartplotter range. The online forecasting service provides the latest weather and sailing information to sailors all around the world. The software update will enable sailors with PredictWind accounts to plan routes in seconds using PredictWind data such as wind, swell, rain, cloud, isobar and air temperature information directly on a B&G chartplotter.

Simrad NSS and NSO evo2 users are able to download a free software upgrade for Simrad NSS and NSO evo2 multifunction displays. The latest software updates, RTM 3.5 for NSS evo2, RTM 4.5 for NSO evo2 and RTM 2.0 for GO7, enable TripIntel, StructureScan 3D, SonicHub2 capabilities and significant enhancements to the WM-3 Weather Module. Offering boaters valuable vessel-tracking information, TripIntel presents vital data in an intuitive graphical format providing everything a boater needs to plan and manage a day offshore. By offering actionable performance enhancements, users gain insight that can improve safety, cut costs and maximize time on the water.

B&G Introduces Vulcan F7 Sailing Chartplotter

Expandable Multi-Touch Display Offers Easy Electronic Navigation With ForwardScanTM Sonar Capabilities. B&G, the world’s leading sailing navigation and instrument specialist, announced today the release of the new enhanced Vulcan 7 FS chartplotter. B&G’s entry-level multi-touch sailing chartplotter now includes ForwardScanTM forward-looking sonar capabilities. KVH Upgrades IP-MobileCast Service

KVH Industries has updated its unique IP-MobileCastTM content delivery service for additional viewing flexibility and expanded content offerings. The new features are being rolled out in stages, with the first round of upgrades automatically delivered via over-the-air software updates for current subscribers. IP-MobileCast was developed by KVH and launched in 2014 as the first and only service to multicast movies, TV shows, daily news and sports, as well as operational data via satellite to vessels at sea.

FLIR Enhances Raymarine LightHouse II OS

FLIR Systems, Inc. announced the release of the latest upgrade to its LightHouse II operating system for Raymarine multifunction displays (MFDs). Available in the form of a free download on raymarine.com, LightHouse II Release 15 gives captains the ability to monitor engine rooms using the new FLIR AX8 marine thermal camera system, improves collision avoidance with new graphical representations of AIS targets and supports direct software updates over Wi-Fi to keep Raymarine users up-to-date with the latest technology.

Lowrance Updates Software for HDS Displays

Lowrance released new software updates for its Lowrance High Definition System (HDS) Gen2 Touch and HDS Gen3 multifunction displays. The newest releases are version 4.5 for HDS Gen2 Touch and version 2.0 for the HDS Gen3. They provide users with features including Outboard Pilot control, C-MAP MAX-N+ 2015 compatibility and Power-Pole integration. Bringing new functionality to HDS Gen3 users, the updated software leverages built-in Bluetooth wireless technology to allow for control of Power-Pole shallow-water anchors, as well as the all-electric MICRO Anchor products.

B&G Offers Free Software Update for Zeus Displays

B&G, a manufacturer of instruments and marine electronics for sailing, has announced  a free software update for Zeus, Zeus Touch and Zeus2 Multifunction Displays. These updates add new features to the Zeus family of products and closer integration with the new B&G H5000 instrument system. In addition to H5000 support, Zeus button-led units will gain the added benefits of FLIR camera and B&G ZC1 wired remote control integration. The ZC1 remote control unit can control up to four Zeus displays with Pilot control and MOB functions.

NavNet TZtouch Software Updates Adds New Features
