Godfrey Marine Breaks Ground on Expanded Manufacturing Facility
Godfrey Marine, manufacturer of Godfrey pontoon boats and Hurricane deck boats, innovator in versatile deck boat designs, announced it has expanded its manufacturing facility in Elkhart, Indiana. Members of the Greater Elkhart Chamber of Commerce joined in the celebration on May 10 with ceremonial shovels to break ground.The new facilities include a 27,000 square foot warehouse and an automation wing. The warehouse will enable 30% growth in production, while the automation wing creates space to add innovative technology for pontoon tube production.

Gulf Craft to Invest $100m in Dubai Shipyard
Dubai Maritime City (DMC), a maritime cluster in Dubai, today announced an agreement with Gulf Craft to invest in a free hold plot located within the marine district of DMC, on an area of approximately 900,000 square feet. According to DMC, Gulf Craft plans to make a $100 million investment in developing this facility over the next five years. It will include a state-of-the-art shipyard to manufacture high-end luxury yachts as well as a service center incorporating cutting-edge, highly specialized technology for the yacht industry.
OceanLED Introduces New Leadership
OceanLED, the global leader in LED marine lighting technology, announced today that its U.K.-based manufacturing facility will be back to full capacity commencing Wednesday, just ten days after announcing its restructuring. Derek Duffill, OceanLED CEO said, “We’ve worked tirelessly for the past two weeks and are pleased to announce that we have successfully re-engaged our supply chain.” Duffill continued, “Our entire production team will be working overtime beginning Wednesday in order to ship all outstanding orders to our world-wide network of resellers. Boston Whaler Expands
Boston Whaler has formally announced a major facilities expansion project underway at its headquarters in Edgewater, Fla. With an under-roof addition of more than 58,000 total square feet, the expansion will serve to significantly increase Whaler’s manufacturing capabilities and expand capacity at a time when the company is enjoying strong growth. The project also will result in the addition of at least 46 full-time jobs. “This expansion gives us the capability to continue to grow our portfolio,” said Boston Whaler President Huw Bower.
OceanLED Sells Subsidiary, Restructures
For the past four years, the directors of OceanLED Limited, a U.K.-based manufacturing facility, have been developing two distinct business divisions, the marine underwater lighting business, OceanLED, and a separate commercial non-marine lighting division, trading as Lietcorp. The reality of building these two businesses has been significant management distraction and financial stress, the company said. The parent company, OceanLED Ltd., was placed into administration on Friday, March 14 in order to facilitate a management buy-out of both companies. OceanLED USA LLC is not affected.
SeaDek Purchases New Manufacturing Facility
SeaDek Marine Products announced that the company will relocate its production operations, currently located in Rockledge, Fla., to a 72,000 square foot manufacturing facility in the same city. The move comes after years of growth and expansion that necessitated multiple off-site facilities to meet the growing need for machine space and material storage. The move will bring all operations under one roof and allow room for expansion in the years to come. The move will also allow SeaDek to continue to bring good manufacturing and technology jobs to the Brevard County area.
