ABYC Publishes Updated Boat Building and Repair Standards

The American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) said it published its 61st supplement of Standards and Technical Information Reports for Small Craft, which provides the marine industry with the latest in boat building and repair standards. The 2021-2022 updates are available to purchase as a book or in digital format via the ABYC online library and desktop subscription.Since 1954, the nonprofit ABYC has developed safety standards for boat design, construction, equipage, repair and maintenance.

American shipyard Hatteras Yachts announced that its flagship Hatteras 100 Raised Pilothouse (100RPH) Motor Yacht will make its European debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival in France, September 8-13, 2015. The 31M motor yacht scheduled to be on display in the water in Cannes is a sister ship of the builder’s first 100RPH, the motor yacht introduced to the U.S. market in 2013. Nova Scotia’s sailing ambassador, 'Bluenose II', fitted with Thordon Bearings' water-lubricated stern tube & rudder bearings. Nova Scotia’s sailing ambassador, the Bluenose II, relaunched September 29, 2012 in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia fitted with pollution-free water lubricated stern tube and rudder bearings. The extensive two-year $15.9 million restoration work was done by the Lunenburg Shipyard Alliance, made up of Covey Island Boat Works, Snyder's Shipyard and Lunenburg Industrial Foundry & Engineering.

New Circuit Breaker Solutions

The 1610 SERIES- A resettable alternative for standard plug-in type blade fuses for fuse blocks in vehicles with 12V or 24V electrical systems, the 1610 Series circuit breaker reduces downtime caused by blown fuses in trucks, recreational vehicles, speciality vehicles, passenger cars and boats. A new benefit of the 1610 series is a color-coding scheme that corresponds to the colours of blade fuses. •    Unlike a fuse, it can be quickly reset, enabling the circuit to be restored with a minimum of downtime.
