Elandra Yachts Launches New Model
Press release - Elandra Yachts has released the latest edition of its stunning 53 model to universal industry acclaim, signalling the evolution of one of Australia’s most exciting brand of luxury marine craft.
Now available for viewing at Leigh-Smith Yachts at Sanctuary Cove on Queensland’s Gold Coast, the highly anticipated new offering from the premier motor yacht manufacturer has created a stir among boating enthusiasts since its launch this week.
Boasting a range of features geared at delivering an enhanced inshore and offshore experience, the latest Elandra embodies the brand’s signature spacious free-flowing design, superior engineering and superyacht finishes.
Elandra Yachts managing director Luke Durman said the newest 53 model featured a striking two-tone black and champagne gold hull, and had been refined in response to international feedback to incorporate a range of options for customers of the semi-custom built sports yacht.
“This latest model is a refinement of Elandra’s commitment to quality craftsmanship and superior performance, and embodies the brand’s focus on continuous and never-ending improvement,” Durman said.
Durman said the brand’s continued evolution could be credited to the outstanding skill and professionalism of his team.
“We have a close knit team of really qualified tradesmen, who all work together to see each new boat through from the initial drafting stage to completion. Bringing together that level of combined knowledge, finesse and experience, and focus of concentrated production, is really the hallmark of a great quality vessel.”
Described as the Bentley of the Sea, the 53’s unmatched performance, intelligent electrical systems and outstanding fuel efficiency have driven feverish Australian and international reception since the debut model’s 2014 release.
The design embraces a single-level entertainment concept around an impressive 5.25m beam, from the spacious cockpit through glass bi-fold doors to a convertible saloon lounge/dinette and galley.
The 53 is configured with a three-cabin, two-bathroom accommodation plan including a full beam master suite and lavish ensuite with private WC and shower.
“The sense of space onboard is comparable to being on a 60-foot yacht, while superyacht standard finishes such as American walnut timber grain joinery, opalescent mother-of-pearl tiles and top-of-the-range European appliances complete the luxury experience,” Mr Durman said.
Above the 53’s large hydraulic lift swim platform, the garage is flanked by twin cavernous lazarette bays and features a sophisticated launch and retrieval system to accommodate a 3.0 m jet tender.
The CZone system controls the boat’s electrical systems, allowing owners to select operating modes, while also monitoring batteries and linking with the inverters and massive 25kVa genset, resulting in effortless power management.
Featuring a lightweight, yet incredibly strong hull composed of one hundred per cent hand laid quadraxial E-Glass reinforced with Kevlar and a glass-to-resin ratio of around 50:50, the boat was designed for stability in all sea conditions, with exceptional performance up to 35 knots.
Elandra’s focus on innovative hull design and hydrodynamic lift characteristics also offer the best cruising fuel efficiency of any comparable sized vessel in her class.
Power is provided by a pair of MAN R6-800 six-cylinder turbo diesel engines with common rail fuel injection. The engines deliver up to a rated 588kW (800hp) of power and 2,700Nm of torque.
This week’s launch caps a stellar year for the Elandra brand, which spearheaded its entry into the US market with the 2015 appointment of Michael Usina to the Florida-based role of President of Elandra Yachts Sales in the Americas.
Elandra has committed $3.5 million to research and development over the next two years. The company will build four to six boats in the 2016 Financial Year, including three 53s and one 49, with its first US delivery of an Elandra 53 scheduled for mid-2016.
Elandra Yachts is driven by its positioning statement, “Inshore Elegance. Offshore Confidence,” representing a mission to match the best of the British and European brands’ styling, while embodying the robust character of quality Australian craftsmanship and superior performance.
