Simrad Launches Navigational Interface TripInte
Recently launched with a free software upgrade, Simrad TripIntel navigational interface provides NSS evo2, NSO evo2 and GO7 users with an easy to use and interpret graphical presentation of real-time vital statistics and range data.
Simrad TripIntel consists of a Cruise Performance Indicator and History tab, which offer users valuable at-a-glance insight that can improve safety, reduce costs and maximize performance. Estimated fuel range, total distance travelled, route taken, boat speed, fuel consumption, current tides and more are presented in an intuitive format with the option to easily select between current and previously recorded trips. TripIntel also incorporates a chart view with a range-ring overlay that dynamically calculates and displays maximum range given current fuel capacity and running conditions.
The Cruise Performance Indicator is added to the display’s instrument bar for a combination fuel gauge, digital economy readout and bar graphs indicating both instantaneous fuel burn and long-term fuel economy. To optimize fuel economy, these real-time bar graphs show a “green zone” helping boaters tune trim and throttle while underway to achieve maximum fuel economy. Boaters are also able to configure fuel economy targets suitable for the specific hull and engine combination.
“Consolidating the widest collection of marine and navigational data on one customizable display is a great way to help boaters enjoy their day on the water,” said Leif Ottosson, CEO, Navico. “TripIntel simplifies the display of complex data, allowing boaters to understand so much more about how their vessel is operating; this leads to improved safety, reduced costs and maximum performance – all of which increase customer enjoyment.”
The free software update is currently available from simrad-yachting.com or directly from Wi-Fi enabled displays via the GoFree Shop.
