New Superyachts Join ASR Cup Regatta

 

The superyacht line-up confirmed now includes the following: S/Y Aphrodite; S/Y Aspiration; S/Y Intrigue; S/Y LA NUMERO UNO; S/Y Minico; S/Y ORIENT PEARL; M/Y Darling; M/Y Siam Princess; M/Y Aveline; and M/Y Azul A along with other pleasure craft accompanying sailing superyacht race participants above.

 

The Sala Phuket Resort and Spa is venue host for the prestigious gathering. Sparking off an exciting Superyacht Rivalry, sleek sailing vessels will view for the 2nd annual ‘ASR Winner’s Cup’ trophy, to be awarded and taken home by the overall winner after two days of fierce racing and friendly rivalry. Many owners will be extending their stay to enjoy the holiday season’s fantastic cruising options on the Andaman seas with some journeying on to explore among the 800 uninhabited islands of Myanmar.

 

The ASR Cup  2018 takes place off shore with magnificent racing sailing yacht action accompanied by pleasure sailing vessels and motor yachts moored along the course. The Committee Boat, the luxury vessel Siam Princess, will be motoring around the course on ASR race days with Race Director, Captain Andy Dowden, on board with VIP guests.

 

Every year those attending meet up with fellow owners and captains and crew to race (or join in pleasure motor or sailing) whilst enjoying the exclusive whirlwind of elegant yet relaxed events on and off their vessels.

 

Opening day the ‘Captain’s Briefing’ will be followed with guests whisked away by tenders awaiting at the custom built jetty to speed them to the ‘Opening Night Cocktail Party’ aboard the beautiful S/y La Numero Uno. Next day it’s on to the 1st day of thrilling superyacht racing and in the evening, the popular ‘Challenge’ boat building & racing party held at the Sala Phuket Resort. 

 

Following the 2nd day of racing a ‘Superyacht Dress Parade’ the mammoth vessels will put on an extraordinary show as they sail and motor into formation on the Bay. Later guests will gather for the closing ‘VIP Gala Dinner & ASR Awards Ceremony’.  Coupled with exotic entertainment and dancing to a live band, the presentation of the second Asia Superyacht Rendezvous ‘Winner’s Race Cup’ trophy will take place amidst the closing gourmand Thai and International feast – a fitting end to the Asia Superyacht Rendezvous 2018.
