Mediterranean - A New Playground for IMOCAs
In line with a sports policy driven by its President HSH Prince Albert II, the Yacht Club de Monaco is organizing the first Monaco Globe Series early June, the first stage of the new IMOCA (2018-2020) Championship. The second will be the Route du Rhum in November which celebrates its 40th anniversary. With nine of the 60-footers already registered and one pending confirmation, the double-handed non-stop offshore race without assistance is a chance for competitors to rack up points towards selection for the Vendée Globe 2020.
New Superyachts Join ASR Cup Regatta
Even more superyachts have confirmed for the 17th annual Asia Superyacht Rendezvous Cup (ASR Cup) to be held at the Sala Phuket Resort & Spa on pristine Mai Khao Beach January 19th – 21st ‘on and off water’ elite invitational event. The superyacht line-up confirmed now includes the following: S/Y Aphrodite; S/Y Aspiration; S/Y Intrigue; S/Y LA NUMERO UNO; S/Y Minico; S/Y ORIENT PEARL; M/Y Darling; M/Y Siam Princess; M/Y Aveline; and M/Y Azul A along with other pleasure craft accompanying sailing superyacht race participants above.
Oceanco’s 91.5m Equanimity Honored

Yachtbuilders, Oceanco, Win Monaco Award
Oceanco's most recent launch, the 85.60m megayacht Y708, has won the award for "Best Yacht Design over 50 metres" at the 2013 World Yacht Trophies Event. Y708 was delivered in early 2013 following a successful collaboration between Imperial Yachts - Y708 project manager and owner's representative - and Oceanco. The awards ceremony, organized by LuxMedia Group, took place on Saturday, September 14 at the Carlton Hotel in Cannes. Following the gala dinner and announcement of the winners, an impressive parade of award-winning yachts motored by the beachside venue.
Marion Bermuda Cruising Yacht Race
With the Safety at Sea seminar in its wake, the Marion Bermuda Cruising Yacht Race team is taking last-minute registrations for the 645-mile ocean challenge. The Marion Bermuda Race offers an early registration discount to encourage early entries. That discount expires on Monday April 15th. Early entry saves $150.The race starts June 14th. There is still plenty of time for entry and preparation, but you’ll have to hurry. YBDSA Gala Dinner and AGMs
As 2012 draws to a close, the Yacht Brokers, Designers and Surveyors Association (YBDSA), ended its Centenary year in style with a Gala Dinner held at the prestigious Royal Thames Yacht Club.
