NavPlay, a manufacturer of iPad apps for boaters, released the latest feature of its NavPlay navigation app, Chart Table. NavPlay’s exclusive Chart Table is designed to allow boaters to plan routes on their iPad just as they would on their boat’s chart table. A dedicated mobile environment for charting, planning and navigation, NavPlay uses the standard iPad interface making it easy for users to learn and confidently use all features of NavPlay and, in particular, Chart Table. With satellite imagery and C-Map by Jeppesen vector charts, NavPlay gives boaters the ability to plan and perfectly define their trips using their iPad with the same level of map detail and information as a chartplotter.

“Like a chart table on a boat, our exclusive Chart Table functionality allows boaters to plan and plot routes on their iPad, anywhere, in a dedicated environment,” said Andrea Buralli, sales and marketing manager, NavPlay. “Perfect for amateur and savvy boaters alike, Chart Table is designed to respond to the same familiar gestures as the rest of the Apple iOS interface, making it incredibly simple to use. Combined with C-Map by Jeppesen maps, our app provides the ultimate mobile navigation platform with all of the details users expect from today’s chartplotters.”

The NavPlay app is available for download from the Apple App Store in English, Italian, French and German, and is compatible with Apple iPad2, iPad3, iPad4, iPad mini and iPad Air models running iOS 6.0 or greater. C-Map by Jeppesen charts are not included, but can be easily purchased from NavPlay using the Jeppesen Marine tool located in the ‘Service’ section of the NavPlay app. NavPlay includes a worldwide vector background map to ensure usability when users do not have add-on mapping. Satellite images are only available while connected to the Internet.

The introductory version of NavPlay is priced at $4.99 and includes Chart Table, LogBook, Instruments Diagnostics and Experience Maker features; unlimited access to NavigationBook.com; a cloud-based backup option; as well as 15-days of free access to all navigation features. After the initial 15-days, users can purchase an additional 15-day subscription for $14.99, or purchase a 1-year subscription for $49.99. A free 90-day subscription is available to new Vesper Marine customers; details are available at www.vespermarine.com
