Caterpillar to Launch Re-Manufactured Popular Marine Engines
Caterpillar Marine is to launch the Cat Reman 3116, 3126 and 3126B propulsion engines for yachts at the 2014 Miami International Boat Show. Re-manufactured using only 100% Caterpillar re-manufactured or genuine new parts, the economical Cat Reman engines will enter production in summer 2014.
Caterpillar explain that these propulsion engines will be available in ratings of 304 - 456 mhp and are ideal for pleasure craft as well as fishing vessels. The Cat 3126 version of this family will be on display at the Caterpillar booth #P79 at the upcoming Miami International Boat Show, held February 13-17, 2014, in Miami, Florida.
“The Cat 3116, Cat 3126 and Cat 3126B engines are some of the most popular engine platforms we’ve ever produced and we’re proud to relaunch them as remanufactured engines, providing customers with a reliable yet affordable alternative to an engine overhaul,” David L. Holt, Caterpillar Marine part sales manager noted. “These are the first remanufactured engines we’ve launched for our marine business and we look forward to expanding the program to include our commercial offerings in 2015.”
As a leading remanufacturer of diesel engines, Caterpillar says it employs state of the art techniques, advanced remanufacturing processes, and genuine Cat parts to return each engine to same as new specifications, all backed by full parts warranty.
Manufactured in Corinth, Mississippi, the Cat Reman engines will meet the original emissions requirements of the existing platforms while providing customers the confidence of installing factory-tested solutions. “Cat Reman engines are the ideal solution for customers seeking maximized productivity and performance with minimized down time and lower life cycle costs. These engines are a cost sensitive way to bring your vessel back to life,” noted Holt.
The Cat Reman marine propulsion engines will be available to order this summer from the global Cat dealer network.
