Broadwater Marine, the largest yacht chandlery in the Philippines, announced today that it has been purchased by Australian businessman Peter Baird.

With close ties to the local boating community, Baird has lived in the Philippines on his 75 foot motor vessel for over six years. An avid boater, diver, passionate family man and successful businessman with a proven track-record, Baird looks to bring his values to expand Broadwater Marine. Hoping to add a fresh new direction to the business, Baird’s initial focus will be on increasing the company’s exclusive offerings. The marine retailer currently has five branches across the country and a sixth location is planned.

“In the time I have lived in the Philippines, I have come to see the people and community as my home,” said Peter Baird, owner, Broadwater Marine. “Broadwater Marine has an established customer base and a strong reputation in the region for offering quality products with excellent service. I hope to add to that success and look forward to the years ahead building upon its solid foundation.”

Baird plans to visit the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) and Marine Equipment Trade Shows (METS) this November to look at future product and distributor opportunities.
