Keeping Cool: Dometic to Supply AC to Sunseaker

Dometic signed a three-year exclusive air-conditioning supply contract with boatbuilder Sunseeker. Under the new commercial agreement, Dometic will operate as the sole air-conditioning equipment supplier for Sunseeker’s model range from 50 ft. to 131 ft.Working directly with Sunseeker to design systems into new craft, Dometic supplies the OEM with three types of system that can be installed depending on the size and lay out of the vessel. These range from the self-contained direct expansion system, to the split-gas direct expansion system, up to the high-capacity chilled water systems ideal for superyachts.

Keeping Plastics Out of the Ocean: New AMELS Drinking Water Systems

Inspired by yacht owners and crews and to coincide with World Environment Day, AMELS announced that it is designing drinking water purification systems into all new AMELS Limited Editions yacht projects. These systems can tackle the global plastic waste problem, while providing pleasant-tasting and safe drinking water. The new drinking water system is a great way to reduce the plastic footprint of yacht ownership.The AMELS yard has now designed remineralization and purification systems into its new Limited Editions yachts, to give crews and guests access to carbonated or chilled water – made by the yacht itself – wherever in the world they are.

AFECO is expanding its presence in the superyacht market with a range of unique bespoke wastewater treatment management and support packages tailored specifically for the superyacht sector. The company recognises that the superyacht sector faces unique wastewater management challenges. Issues can arise as a result of the complexity of wastewater treatment systems, which are getting more complex due to the tightening of effluent consents. Process problems can occur due to mechanical inconsistencies, the result of needing bespoke systems in order to fit a vessel’s layout.

ABA Renew Contract with Whale Seaward

The American Boatbuilder’s Association Inc (ABA), one of America's leading buying groups for independent boat builders has renewed their water heater contract with Whale Seaward for another four years. The contract ensures that leading U.S. boat manufacturers including Chaparral, Cobalt, Grady-White, Monterey, Nautic Global Group, Regal Marine Industries, Pursuit, Tiara, Stingray, and Thunderbird will use Seaward by Whale branded water heaters in their systems. Dometic Supplies Custom RushFlush for New Viking Yachts

Dometic Marine created a new version of its innovative Sealand RushFlush toilet to suit the specific requirements of Viking Yachts. The custom-made, residential-style version of the RushFlush toilet has been fitted into Viking’s new 62-foot model. Following the collaboration, the renowned builders of luxury performance sport-fishing and cruising yachts will now be looking to expand its use of the RushFlush toilet into other future models. The need for a different version of the toilet arose due to space restrictions in certain areas of the Viking 62.

Whale Water Systems Announces Acquistion of Seaward Products

Vermont based Whale Water Systems has completed an agreement to take over production, distribution and servicing of the complete Seaward Products line including the Princess brand. The deal was completed just before the opening of IBEX marine trade show in Louisville and the new brand – Seaward by Whale – will officially launch at the show. Whale already provides a wide range of fresh water, bilge and gray waste management systems and now have more to offer with the addition of the Seaward range of water heaters, ovens, cooktops BBQs, electrical panels, tanks and accessories.
