Hall of Fame Marina gets new docks
Hall of Fame Marina in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. is expanding with new, concrete floating docks. With the permitting phase complete, dock renovation with Bellingham Marine will commence this summer, with construction completed in fall, to accommodate Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) 2019. As Hall of Fame provides dockage for FLIBS, the Westrec marina anticipates hosting more superyachts up to 160-feet.The new piers will be 150-feet in length. The footprint is changing with about 600-feet of concrete floating docks replacing 400-feet of wooden docks.

Hargrave Yachts seeks investor
Michael Joyce, 75, whose family trust owns the Hargrave company, will move Hargrave Custom Yachts into a standalone corporation in 2019. New 33-meter Beiderbeck Motoryacht from Horizon
A new vessel from Beiderbeck Designs: in Taiwan, the yacht designers from Bremen are using the technical platform of a 33-meter long Horizon motoryacht for its latest commission for an experienced German owner. The customized 108-foot long double decker with its half-raised pilothouse (RP) on a tried and tested hull is already under construction and will be equipped with 2x 2,600 HP MTU-engines. This high-sea cruiser will enable passengers to directly experience the elements from every angle. The launch is scheduled for the start of 2017 and will be from the Horizon superyacht shipyard.
Taiwan Boosts Yacht Export
Taiwan's yacht industry saw its first double-digit growth in nearly a decade, indicating an inspiring revival led by development and sales of larger leisure boats, reports Chinese newspaper Commercial Times. The export value of Taiwan-made yachts hit US$172 million, up 13.16% year-on-year and marking the highest growth figure in five years. Garmin to Acquire NZ’s Fusions Electronics
Satellite navigation systems provider Garmin says it has entered into an agreement to acquire substantially all of the assets of Fusion Electronics Limited and its subsidiaries. Fusion is a privately-held provider of integrated marine audio equipment, headquartered in Auckland, New Zealand. The completion of the acquisition, which is subject to customary conditions, is expected to occur on June 30, 2014. “Fusion has pioneered a number of innovations in marine audio. Their ability to integrate their products with networked marine multifunction displays has been recognized across the industry,” said Cliff Pemble, Garmin’s president and CEO.
Paragon Announces 100' Bahama Skymaster
Following on the inaugural Taiwan International Boat Show, Paragon Motor Yachts announces the construction of a custom 100-foot Bahama SkyMaster for a repeat client. The result of a close collaboration between Paragon yacht owners and the West Palm Beach-headquartered company, the new, 100-foot SkyMaster is named for its “Bahamas House” – a voluminous superstructure featuring vertical windows that enhance the plentiful interior space while at the same time diminishing heat and A/C load.
