Construction of World’s Largest Sailing Catamaran Superyacht Underway
Australia’s custom superyacht builder Echo Yachts has commenced construction of the ASC57 – a sailing catamaran superyacht.It will be the world’s largest such vessel and is being built in partnership with Dutch sailing yacht designers Dykstra Naval Architects and Australian aluminum multihull experts One2Three Naval Architects.Drawing inspiration from Echo Yachts' 2023 newbuild motor yacht M/Y Charley 2, the ASC57 sailing yacht will feature luxury accommodation, a vast array of water toys and helicopter landing capabilities.New is a twin-Dynarig sail system by Southern Spars.

Baglietto Hull Construction on Schedule

Damen Lays Keel for 77-meter Expedition Yacht
On July 27 DAMEN SeaXplorer marked a milestone in the construction of the SeaXplorer 77 expedition yacht at a keel laying ceremony at Damen Shipyards Galati on the banks of the Danube. The owner attended the ceremony and welded the traditional coin on the keel. Following the hull building phase, the 77-meter luxury expedition yacht (253 ft) will arrive at Damen’s Vlissingen East yard in the Netherlands for completion and on-schedule delivery in Q4 2020.The SeaXplorer 77 is a customized design from the DAMEN SeaXplorer range.
ABB’s Azipod for superyacht Tuhura
ABB’s Azipod propulsion will power Oceanco’s visionary superyacht inspired by Polynesian canoes and outfitted with the latest technology. Perfectly suited to the canoe form, ABB’s contra-rotating Azipod technology achieves a 10 percent propulsion efficiency improvement. The ABB technology has become the industry standard in the cruise segment since its launch in 1990. Tuhura made waves on its launch by Dutch superyacht builder Oceanco at last month’s Dubai International Boat Show 2018. Oceanco’s visionary vessel has been conceived in collaboration with the Lobanov Design Studio, naval architect BMT Nigel Gee and interior designer Achille Salvagni.

World-class superyacht builder Oceanco has awarded RH Marine with the contract for the electrical & automation system integration and overall electrical system responsibility of Oceanco’s new 100+ meter yacht. Brazilian superyacht builder MCP Yachts has credited Seatorque Control Systems for contributing to the outstanding performance of its latest launch – the Hemisphere 140 Raffaella II.
