Marine electronics company Raymarine announced its standard-fit electronics package selected for all model sizes of Twin Vee’s 2025 GFX-2 flagship series.The next evolution of the Twin Vee GFX line, the GFX-2, will be offered in five lengths ranging in size from 24- to 40-feet in length. The GFX-2 features an all-digital switching backbone and an updated Raymarine electronics system, allowing customers to control their boat via a touchscreen 24-inch Axiom 2 XL chartplotter display.

Cummins Marine Engines RCD 2 Certified
Cummins Inc. has announced that its QSB6.7, QSC8.3, QSL9 and QSM11 marine engines have been certified to the new Recreational Craft Directive 2013/53/EU (RCD 2) emissions regulation. RCD 2 applies to any recreational watercraft with a hull length between 2.5 meters and 24 meters. Certification comes ahead of the Jan. 18, 2017, mandatory implementation date for RCD 2, making Cummins one of the first marine diesel manufacturers to have its products certified. All Quantum Series propulsion ratings previously available with RCD 1 certification are now certified to the stricter RCD 2 standard.

Gulf Coast Shipyard Group (GCSG) has delivered the Motor Yacht Imagine. The M.Y. Imagine, a Trinity built yacht, is a 193’x 32’x 14’6” custom designed semi-displacement aluminum hull and superstructure vessel that was constructed in GCSG’s yard located in New Orleans, Louisiana. The vessel meets the highest quality yacht standards in the world. It was designed by GCSG and is ABS classed for commercial yachting service. M.Y. Imagine is designed to accommodate 12 guests and a crew of 14 including a captain.

ALMACO: New Crew Cabins for RCI Mega Cruis Ships

The scope of work for each of the ships involved the dismantling of the existing crew-dedicated Windjammer, the assembly of the 17 new cabins, new corridors, and the electrical and piping works in line with the physical changes. "The team faced several technical and scheduling challenges with back-to-back projects that had practically overlapping timelines," explained Tommi Virta, Project Manager.

The 167,800-gt cruise ship Quantum of the Seas was built for and delivered to Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. (Miami). This is the first ship of the Quantum class. It features highly energy-efficient systems, optimized hydrodynamics, heat recovery, an effective underwater paint coating, a state-of-the-art exhaust gas treatment plant (hybrid scrubber) as well as energy-saving LED lighting systems.

MEYER WERFT delivered the 167,800-gt cruise ship Quantum of the Seas to the U.S. cruise operator Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. yesterday in Bremerhaven. According to the builder, the first ship of the Quantum class sets new standards in terms of eco-friendliness, featuring highly energy-efficient systems, optimized hydrodynamics, heat recovery, an effective underwater paint coating, a state-of-the-art exhaust gas treatment plant (hybrid scrubber) as well as energy-saving LED lighting systems. The ship can accommodate 4,180 guests in 2,090 cabins, and is staffed by a crew of approximately 1,550.
