ABYC Announces New Board, Officers

The American Boat & Yacht Council (ABYC) hosted its 63rd annual meeting and announced the election of three new members to the board of directors as well as the election of four officers. The annual meeting included an awards presentation to recognize ABYC members who have provided exceptional service to the marine industry. Joining the board of directors is Christina Paul from K&L Gates LLC, David Johnson from Power Products LLC and Elio Betty from BoatU.S. Dave Marlow, who has served as board chairman for the past four years, introduced the new board members during ABYC’s annual meeting.

New General Manager Joins Barrus

E. P. Barrus Ltd announced the appointment of Ben Allen as General Manager for the Marine Leisure Division. Ben will be responsible for the brands of Mariner and Mercury outboard engines and the range of Quicksilver boats. Ben brings experience from sales and business management roles and has been responsible for setting up a successful businesses of his own. Prior to joining Barrus, Ben was employed as the UK Sales and Marketing Manager for Sterling Power Products, a supplier of power management systems to the marine and commercial vehicle markets.
