The National Marine Representatives Association (NMRA) has awarded two scholarships of $2,500 each to students pursuing education in the marine trades beginning this fall.NMRA has actively contributed to the future of the marine industry by awarding marine trades education scholarships annually since 2008.Pearl Farley of Asheville, NC will attend the Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding. Four men forced to abandon their sinking motor yacht have been rescued approximately 25 nautical miles northwest of Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, the US. Coast Guard said.At 5:22 a.m. Sunday, watchstanders at Sector San Juan received a VHF radio Channel 16 distress call from the 80-foot yacht Clam Chowder, reporting the vessel’s stern was mostly under water. Despite having multiple pumps energized, the crew of four U.S. citizens from Boston and Florida, said to be the only people aboard at the time of the incident, could not keep up with the flooding.

Luxury Yacht Seized in Money Laundering Probe
Indonesian police on Thursday questioned the captain and crew of a luxury yacht in Bali at the request of U.S. authorities, probing alleged money laundering at a Malaysian state fund, they said.
