ABT-TRAC, WESMAR and SmartCatch Form INOV8V Marine

Roger Fellows, owner of Western Marine Electronics (WESMAR), Arcturus Marine Systems (ABT-TRAC), and SmartCatch, announced Wednesday the formation of a new marine technology company, INOV8V Marine Group, encompassing all three legacy brands.Fellows says combining the three companies produces a more complete, higher-performing product line, with improved service after the sale.“Whether operating pleasure yachts or commercial fishing vessels, our customers demand performance, reliability and aftermarket support,” Fellows said.

ABT-TRAC Under New Ownership

California based Arcturus Marine Systems, known in the marine market as ABT-TRAC has been sold by company founder and president D’Milo Hallerberg to businessman Roger Fellows after 34 years.The sale was effective July 31, 2020, terms were not disclosed.Hallerberg founded the company in 1986 and built the company to become a leader in design and manufacture of bow and stern thrusters, roll fin stabilizers, and on-board hydraulic systems for pleasure yachts. Seaway Powell Showcases New Product Range

Seaway Powell Marine Ltd. (part of the PT Group), a British engineering company specializing in the design and manufacture of marine hydraulic systems, will be showcasing its range of products at this year’s Marine Equipment Trade Show (METS), in Amsterdam, from November 19-21. Making its international debut will be Seaway Powell’s Single Lay Winch, which forms part of the new family of single lay captive winches. Able to heave loads ranging from 1-24 tons, they have been designed to reduce the weight of the winch whilst maintaining strength and robustness.

Seaway Powell Launches Onsite Servicing and Repair

Seaway Powell Marine, a British engineering company specializing in the design and manufacture of marine hydraulic systems, now has a mobile service and repair team for winches, windlasses, hydraulic and conventional sail and rigging controls. The service will initially cover the area from Hamble to Weymouth, with Seaway Powell Marine engineers making regular calls into harbors, marinas and boatyards, as well as responding to individual requests from leisure and commercial boat owners. Tom Loasby, Sales Manager at Seaway Powell Marine says the service has been set up in response to requests from customers.

Offering one pump size that handles most boat sizes and applications, the GHP 20 Autopilot with SmartPump is a tremendous advancement in hydraulic steering systems. “Installing dealers will benefit greatly from the GHP 20 Autopilot with SmartPump, as it effectively puts an end to guessing which pump size will work for a particular boat,” said Dan Bartel, Garmin’s vice president of worldwide sales. The GHP 20 with SmartPump automatically adjusts the maximum flow rate for a particular boat.
