Seaway Powell Marine Ltd. (part of the PT Group), a British engineering company specializing in the design and manufacture of marine hydraulic systems, will be showcasing its range of products at this year’s Marine Equipment Trade Show (METS), in Amsterdam, from November 19-21.

Making its international debut will be Seaway Powell’s Single Lay Winch, which forms part of the new family of single lay captive winches. Able to heave loads ranging from 1-24 tons, they have been designed to reduce the weight of the winch whilst maintaining strength and robustness. The design also incorporates an array of features to combat the inherent and expensive problems associated with sheet wear and tear, thus adding to the overall cost-effectiveness.

Seaway Powell’s C3000E Capstan can accept rope up to 30mm in diameter.  Drive can be from 12-24 volt DC or hydraulic motor, providing a rated pull load of 1,400kg at a speed of 34 meters per minute, ensuring quick and efficient hauling.  In its original form (C3000) it has been fitted to providers of critical and lifesaving services, including the RNLI, as well as many small commercial craft, short sea ferries and ocean going yachts.

Specifically designed for wind farm support vessels, workboats and passenger ferries between 15-25 metres, the Seaway Powell manufactured Hypac HHAW10-12 is an ultra-light weight anchor windlass that offers a powerful solution for high-speed vessels.  Powered by a dedicated hydraulic power unit or vessel hydraulic supply, its quiet direct-drive motor ensures gearbox servicing is kept to a minimum while the clutchless operation guarantees anchor freefall in any conditions.  Available with a range of valve options, this easy-to-operate and efficient solution can also be customised to suit any vessel or operator requirements.

The Precision Technology V Actuator, also manufactured by Seaway Powell, is an electro-mechanical ram-style actuator providing a low maintenance alternative to fluid power cylinders.  Ideally suited as a clean and efficient hydraulic cylinder replacement, it offers the end user a rugged, flexible, linear actuator platform for thrust and speed control. This style of actuator excels when there is a high concentration of airborne contaminants, when moving a load that pivots, or when applying force to an already externally supported load.

The Precision Technology V Range can be retro-fitted or installed as part of a new mechanical system.  When combined with modern servo motors and controls, electro-mechanical actuation provides nearly infinite programmability, reduced set-up times, and improved control of speed, acceleration, deceleration, force and position.
