VesselVanguard announced today a new partnership with Hatteras Yachts to provide a five-year subscription for its award-winning maintenance management solution to every buyer of a new Hatteras convertible or motor yacht. Hatteras owners will be among the first to have access to two groundbreaking new features of VesselVanguard’s cloud-based technology: GPLink telematics integration and interactive deck maps.

“We want to give Hatteras owners the very best after-sales experience and VesselVanguard is a central part of that strategy,” said Tom Sanders, senior vice president, sales and marketing, Hatteras CABO. “Their proven platform makes it easy for our customers to know and manage all the various maintenance needs of their yachts. The result for them is better boat performance, higher resale value, and more peace of mind every time they leave the dock.”

Hatteras owners will enjoy integration of the GPLink remote monitoring system directly within their online VesselVanguard profile. Engine hours and performance data are transmitted automatically to alert owners when maintenance and inspections are due, and provide service technicians with archived sensor and diagnostic information to allow for better care of on-board equipment. Telematic data transmission through the service can also be used for remote support when the owner is on board.

VesselVanguard also provides interactive deck maps unique to each Hatteras yacht. Hotspots on the maps enable click-though views of equipment information at that location, with links to contextual photos, manuals and other related material. Owners can search the maps to find the location of a specific piece of equipment or of all equipment within a system.

Both of these new technologies, along with other VesselVanguard features such as the digital equipment manual library, personalized maintenance calendars, email and SMS task alerts, service tracking and more, are accessible to Hatteras owners online or within the newly launched VesselVanguard iPad app. VesselVanguard will also provision a new iPad that the Hatteras dealer provides each owner when delivery is taken, complete with a customized cover, the VesselVanguard app and all manuals in PDF format installed.

“Hatteras goes above and beyond to provide incomparable yachts and exceptional service for their customers,” said VesselVanguard founder and CEO, Don Hyde. “We’ve built our reputation worldwide on improving the yacht ownership experience and we’re excited to partner with Hatteras as we continue to raise the bar together.”

Dedicated to providing significant changes in the post-sale relationship for builders and customers alike, VesselVanguard removes the complexity of owning and maintaining a vessel. The solution meets the information needs of today’s busy lifestyle by giving Hatteras owners a secure and comprehensive boat profile accessible from the cloud, anywhere, at any time, by browser, tablet or smartphone. The profile contains all manuals in searchable form with current updates, warranty data, registration and insurance documentation, organized to the preferences of the owner.
