ZF Updates Its 'Ramp Assist' Boating App
ZF has launched the latest version of its Ramp Assist app for iOS, introducing several new features designed to improve the boating experience through advanced technology. This update includes significant enhancements aimed at making boat ramp access more efficient and user-friendly.
1. Boat Ramp Locator
Ramp Assist now includes a Boat Ramp Locator feature that provides access to over 23,000 boat ramps across the United States. This tool offers a bird's eye satellite view of each ramp, aiding in trip planning for boats and a multitude of watercraft including jet skis, kayaks and paddleboards.
2. Detailed Ramp Information
The application offers detailed information on each ramp, including occupancy, amenities such as parking and restrooms, and any associated fees. Community ratings provide insight into ramp cleanliness, level of difficulty, and overall satisfaction, ensuring that users have current and reliable information.
3. Real-Time Ramp Traffic Updates
Using satellite data and AI prediction models, the Ramp Traffic feature delivers frequent updates on wait times and parking availability. This feature aims to reduce long waits and crowded conditions, making boating more efficient and enjoyable.
4. Favorite Boat Ramps Alerts
Users can bookmark their favorite ramps and receive notifications about occupancy, weather, tide conditions, and other relevant updates. This allows boaters to keep track of their preferred locations and stay prepared for optimal boating experiences.
5. Weather and Tide Information
The app provides tailored weather and tide notifications for specific locations and bookmarked ramps. Detailed forecasts are available, helping boaters stay informed and safe on the water.
6. AI-Powered Ramp Assist
The AI-powered Ramp Assist feature continues to offer seamless boat loading guidance using advanced computer vision and augmented reality. This technology guides users to the optimal path, ensuring smooth and safe loading, even in busy conditions. No additional equipment is required, making it easy to use.
Lars Hoffmann, the Product Owner of Ramp Assist, commented on the new features: "With Ramp Assist, ZF aims to make boating more accessible and enjoyable for everyone. The new Boat Ramp Locator and real-time traffic updates are game-changers for planning and efficiency."
Hoffmann added, "Safety and convenience have always been our top priorities. The detailed ramp information and tailored weather notifications are designed to keep boaters informed and safe at all times. Ramp Assist goes beyond being an app; it’s a boater-driven community network."
