Simrad Yachting, announced the debut of three new NS Series, compatible products in conjunction with the 2013 Miami International Boat Show. It launches the HH36 handheld VHF radio, GS25 GPS Antenna and WM-3 SiriusXM Satellite Weather & Radio Module.

HH36 VHF
The Simrad HH36 Class D digital selective calling (DSC) marine handheld radio features a large backlit LCD screen, measuring 1 x 1.6 inches (25.5 x 40.4mm). Some features include easy-to-use soft keys, a large push-to-talk button, integrated GPS and two new screen modes – Navigation and Plotter mode. Integrated GPS aids in DSC communication for safety and provides boaters with positional data. Navigation mode displays a host of navigational tools such as current bearing, distance to waypoint (DTW), speed over ground (SOG) and course over ground (COG). Boaters can create a route using its dedicated GoTo button for on-the-go planning. Plotter mode gives an instant view of nearby waypoints in a diagrammatic form and includes key navigational information such as DTW and COG. Additional HH36 VHF features include a “Get Buddy” option to transmit the radio’s position by a simple push of a button to up to 20 friends; MOB functionality, easily accessible with the GoTo button; as well as international channels; dedicated channel 16/9 button; and Dual Watch. The HH36 is waterproof to the JIS-7 standard and will hold a battery charge for up to 13 hours.

GS25 GPS Antenna
The Simrad GS25 GPS/GLONASS antenna with integrated e-Compass/Gyro, is a precision positioning and heading sensor that ensures access to exact vessel orientation. In addition to location information, when used with a compatible Simrad NSE, NSO or NSS display, the heading-aware antenna also enhances navigational data by providing course over ground (COG) information at any speed and enabling radar overlay on charts. Delivering a configurable update rate — 1Hz, 5Hz or 10Hz — for location updates, the GPS features an advanced chipset that offers time-to-first-fix and supports multiple Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS). The antenna will also communicate with GPS, GLONASS, WAAS/EGNOS/MSAS.

WM-3 SiriusXM Satellite Weather & Radio Module
The new Simrad WM-3 uses SiriusXM’s newly adopted equatorial satellite system to provide the ability to integrate SiriusXM subscription current and forecasted high-resolution weather, sea conditions and satellite radio services into Simrad NS Series multifunction displays — NSO Offshore, NSE Expert and NSS Sport. The WM-3 includes a new compact tri-cable splitter that connects to the WM-3 antenna via a digital link and transforms the information for output over Ethernet to a single NS series unit or multiple NS series displays. The splitter also provides professional quality audio through a dual RCA male 6.5-foot (2m) output cable to interface with SonicHub as well as any onboard sound system. The splitter has four high-bright LEDs that show power, network activity, antenna faults and audio sequences for failure indications. The new ultra-compact smart antenna is designed for versatile flush mounting on a deck as well as pole mounting with the included hardware kit. The Simrad WM-3 displays the same professional data as WM-2 and operates a selection of two SiriusXM U.S. weather subscription packages (sold separately). Boaters can select the weather solution best suited to their style of boating. The SiriusXM Marine Coastal (Mariner) package provides a compilation of weather and sea-condition information including weather buoy observations and sea-surface temperature, as well as a three-hour wind and wave forecast. City forecasts and current fuel prices are also provided. The SiriusXM Marine Offshore (Voyager) package includes the same comprehensive features of the Mariner package with a wind and wave forecast window of 48 hours. For an additional monthly fee, boaters can add SiriusXM radio to either weather subscription.

Available in April 2013, the new Simrad HH36 VHF, GS25 GPS and WM-3 SiriusXM Weather & Radio Module can be purchased from authorized dealers and distributors throughout the United States and Canada for US $249, $199 and $799, respectively.
