Marine Travelift delivered a 50 BFMII mobile boat hoist (50 metric ton) to Snead Island Boat Works in Palmetto, Florida. This joins a fleet of four existing machines ranging from 15-75 metric tons and is the ninth Marine Travelift to call Snead Island home.

Snead Island Boat Works is a family owned and operated business since 1936 and has seen the boat hoist industry evolve with each passing year. From the first machine purchased back in 1968 to the latest addition in 2016, Marine Travelift has provided Snead Island with a high-quality product to service its customers for 50 years.

This long lasting relationship has helped pave the way for Gary and his staff for many years. As both his family business and the marina industry continue to evolve, so does the need to provide the highest-quality product for his customers.  The new 50 BFMII mobile boat hoist at Snead Island features improvements such as industrial tires, remote diagnostics, a custom top beam extension to accommodate the high volume of sailboats in the area, wireless remote control with digital load readout, and easier access for machine maintenance and engine compartment access. These continuous improvements have led to lower maintenance costs as well as more efficient operations.

Snead Island has expressed its satisfaction with the new mobile boat hoist and looks forward to keeping up with all of the continuous innovations happening at Marine Travelift. The new 50 BFMII has made an instant impact at Snead Island, as more picks are being made and a wider range of vessels are being served.
