Padebco Handed Down to the Next Generation of Builders

Maine Built Boats reported that 50-year custom boat builder, founder and designer of Padebco Custom Boats, S. Bruce Cunningham, recently transferred ownership of the company to Leon and Sara MacCorkle.
The MacCorkles will continue building Padebco's high-end, deep V hull, fiberglass, custom cruising boats. "Working one-on-one and building a relationship with each client is a hallmark of Padebco, whether it's building their new boat and customizing it to their specifications, refitting or repairing an existing wood or fiberglass boat or storing or mooring," said Leon MacCorkle.
"There are things I want to do but can't while I'm running a business. On a nice day, with the water sparkling, I would like to get in my boat and head to Boothbay or Port Clyde for the day, or play a little golf," explained Cunningham, who will continue to be part of Padebco sharing his wealth of his skills, knowledge and experience with the MacCorkles. Padebco Custom Boats are known for their classic lines and solid seaworthy design. Each boat is built with the future boat owner's input including personal customizations and specifications.
Padebco's fiberglass cruisers are suited for those wishing to downsize from a larger cruising vessel or join the cruising community.
