-- A real drivers’boat --

Vanquish Yachts in the Netherlands unveiled its new Vanquish VQ48sports boat. The new model was designed entirely from scratch, while integrating the typical lines of Vanquish Yachts.
Even more than previous Vanquish boats, the VQ48 has a look & feel which is designed to clearly appeal to car lovers and three ordershave already been taken for the striking new design. To reinforce the‘drivers’ boat’ proposition of Vanquish Yachts and meet client demands, the VQ48 modelwas developed in close cooperation with Guido de Groot Design.
This Dutch bureau has an excellent reputation worldwide and has worked on award-winning superyachtsfor leading yards such as Feadship, Mulder Shipyardand AB Yachts. “Thanks in part to Guido de Groot’s previous experience in car designwith Citroën, his renowned agency was able to interpretthe Vanquish drivers’boat ideas in an optimal way,” said Tom Steentjes, managing director of Vanquish Yachts.
“This has been achieved while also respecting the three pillars that underpin all Vanquish models, namely their amazing agility, all-aluminium custom construction and the supreme comfort that comes from a Dutch-built boat. The designers were even inspired to raise the bar even higher than on previous concepts.”

The Best of Both Worlds
The initial design ideas were originally introduced to Vanquish ownerslooking for a blend of some of the best features of the VQ43and the VQ50. Examples include a smaller foredeck version of the VQ50’s dinette and the popular sun beds found on the VQ43.
Other design highlights are the two specially developed helm seats, a large lounge sofa and an ingenious convertible top which dispenses with the traditional tubes and braces normally seen on biminis.
One of the orders for a VQ48 has come from a client who already owns a VQ43. He and his wife have custom designed the interior of their new VQ48 so that day guests can have access to the head and galley without intruding on the master cabin. When privacy is not a concern, the cabin door can be left open to create an even more open feel. At the same time, the rain shower will be integrated into the ceiling so as to provide optimal headroom in the master, which can sleep up to three people.

Optimal Customization
New buyers can make optimal use of the enormous flexibility offered by Vanquish Yachts, allowing every client to create something in aluminium that truly suits its particular idea of boating pleasure. From day one, space – for socializing and parties in particular – has been central to the design of the VQ48and there are 19 seating places as standard. This will make his particular VQ48 a practical and much-loved charterboat.
The underwater segment and engine of the VQ48 were designed to comply with the highest contemporary yachting standards. As with all other Vanquish models, the VQ48 will set itself apart from other boats in its niche market through its exceptional manoeuvrability, super-fast acceleration and impressive top speed of well over 40 knots. An example of innovations that are uncommon on similar boats is the submarine folding anchor system – an electric anchor designed to fit within the lines of the underwater hull so that no chain or winch are visible when at anchor.

Fun in the Sun
The VQ48 is exceptionally well suited for day trips with many guests. It provides a great deal of freedom of movement on board, and the specially developed parasol previously seen on the VQ50 provides ingenious protection against the sun. Moreover, there is plenty of space for toys under the settees. Cooking will be good fun too on the VQ48, which will feature a super-efficient galley developed by Swiss TV chef René Schudel. René has used all his experience as a cook into the galley equipment and layout, and also suggested fitting a Green Egg Minibarbeque on the back of the yacht, suspended above the water. Like on all Vanquish vessels, the high-end audio installation will be custom fitted and adapted specifically to each boat and owner. Vanquish Yachts recently signed a partnership agreement with Brian's Custom Audio, famous for its work on the latest Ferrari models, to ensure that each Vanquish sound system is a one-of-a-kind solution. The VQ48 has attracted a great deal of attention, with Vanquish Yachts already receiving three orders to date.
