The new Great Harbor Trawler TT35 from Mirage Manufacturing is a unique, outboard-powered liveaboard cruiser. When the father and son design team of Ken and Travis Fickett went looking for the ideal power solution, they turned to Mastry Engine Center and the ultra-efficient Suzuki DF60AV.

The choice of Suzuki outboard power for the TT35 has many advantages. Because the engines are outside the hull, it frees-up internal space for storage. Inside, it's exceptionally quiet with no perceptible vibration. Maintenance is simpler with easier access than an inboard. And with dual engines, redundancy provides peace-of-mind should a prop become fouled.

Suzuki's new three-cylinder, 12-valve DF60AV delivers massive thrust to the TT35's 9" or 11" propellers through its High Energy Rotation heavy-duty lower unit. Offering exceptional throttle response, the engine was developed with Suzuki's Lean Burn Fuel Control System. It automatically adjusts the air/fuel mixture to deliver enviable fuel economy throughout the vessel's cruising speed range of 8–16 mph.

With a spacious 10' beam and mere 18" draft, the TT35 (trailerable trawler) may just be the perfect Great Loop boat. It provides a cruising couple residential-sized living in its large stateroom and saloon, full-featured galley and spacious head with separate shower. At only 6,500 lbs., it can be towed in days to cruising destinations that would take weeks to reach if by water.

Located in Gainesville, Fla., Mirage Manufacturing builds four models of Great Harbor Trawlers, from 35' to 74'. In its Mirage line, it offers a wide range of skiffs, center consoles and classic sportfish boats.
