Following on from McConaghy Boats dominating their classes at the Quantum Key west race week their MC38 is on show in Oakland, Calif.

The show runs from April 11-14, 2013 and Don Payan's  MC38 "Whiplash" will be on display, and Naval Architect Harry Dunning will also be in town from Newport R.I. joined by McConaghy's Ellen Pragnell-Rasch from Sydney for the duration of the show.

Quantum Key West race week results showed again that McConaghy built yachts are a force to be reckoned with.
In IRC 1 the mini maxi class, George Sakellaris's McConaghy built, Reichel Pugh 72 Shockwave beat the brand new and much fancied Bella Mente with a string of 7 firsts and 3 second places.

The IRC sub class for the 40 footers was a clean sweep for McConaghy Boats. The Ker 40 "Catapult" owned by Marc Glimcher won by 1 point over Steve & Heidi Benjamin's Carkeek 40 "SPOOKIE" followed by Stephen Murray's Carkeek 40 "Decision" in third place.

Whilst in the new High Performance Rule (HPR) class Stephen Murray's "Decision" prevailed over Steve & Heidi Benjamin's "SPOOKIE" to win the class by a point. Marc Glimcher's Ker designed and IRC optimised "Catapult" had a very creditable 5th place in a fleet of HPR optimised competition.

The MC 38's "Carbonado" and Jim Carkhuff's "Yard Dog" will be lining up in the HPR class in the Block Island Race week in June. The MC38s are expecting some exciting racing under HPR and the manufacturers say that at USD $259,000 ex factory they represent the best value high performance racing available today.
