GOST (Global Ocean Security Technologies), announced that its GOST Watch HD app was presented the Product Award for Marine Specialty at the 2014 National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) convention held in Fort Myers, Florida.

The NMEA Product Awards single out the year’s best new electronics products and are judged by an annually-nominated panel of expert voters using procedures defined by the Association’s awards committee.

The GOST Watch HD remote surveillance system is designed to capture video when motion is detected while the system is armed. The free GOST Watch HD app allows boat owners to view onboard cameras remotely via smartphone or tablet with an easy-to-use secure interface. In the event of motion detection or other user-specified events, the system can record snapshots and video clips to the GOST Watch website, and send text messages or emails with embedded video to designated recipients. Users can also log in to the website and app to view these files, as well as watch live streaming video from a vessel.

“We are very proud to have been recognized by the industry and our peers at this year’s NMEA convention,” said Jay Keenan, president, GOST. “Our GOST Watch HD app brings the power of our latest vessel monitoring technology right to a smartphone or tablet – functionality that the industry and end users have firmly embraced. This award is a testament to our commitment to deliver technologies that safeguard assets while providing peace of mind to boat owners and crew.”
