Dometic to Showcase its Technology at IBEX

Dometic Marine, a division of Dometic Group, a provider of leisure products for the marine, truck, RV and automotive markets, has announced that it will showcase its new Dometic Sea Xchange + Spot Zero XZ Watermaker at the International Boatbuilders’ Exhibition and Conference (IBEX), Oct. 4-6 in Tampa, Fla.
As a single, compact machine, the XZ combines the benefits of a Sea Xchange watermaker plus a Spot Zero freshwater reverse-osmosis purification system for ultra-pure water. The combined systems share one frame and controller to reduce space requirements, installation time, and the cost of buying two separate systems.
Another innovation of the XZ is its fully integrated sound shield. The sound shield minimizes operating noise, does not add to overall system size, and does not hinder service access.

The patent-pending double-pass design provides the cleanest water possible. It eliminates 95-99 percent of all impurities – including hard-water minerals, heavy metals, particles, viruses, cysts, bacteria, and radioactive contaminants. The XZ system creates freshwater from seawater then sends the freshwater through a second purification process. The second pass brings total dissolved solids (TDS) down to approximately 5-20 parts per million (ppm) from the starting point of about 35,000 ppm found in typical seawater.
Aside from the benefits of having cleaner water to drink, the reduction of dissolved solids means no water spots on marine paints, coatings, hardware and other yacht finishes. The pure Spot Zero water means boat finishes last much longer, saving boat owners thousands of dollars.
The XZ is easy to operate and can be monitored and controlled remotely using Dometic’s Smart Touch Integrated Intelligence Control (STIIC) software with a touchscreen, mobile phone or tablet via WiFi or Ethernet.
