DLBA Embarks on First Project with Lindell Yachts
Lindell Yachts and naval architecture firm DLBA have teamed up to add a new design to the West Coast builder’s growing product line.The company was founded by Jim Lindell who had a passion to create fishing boats that are robust, handle well and provide good fuel economy. Over the years, he built several different types of commercial and recreational boats, and in 2016 took the initiative to develop a product line of recreational sport utility yachts good for fishing or cruising at extended ranges.There are three boats in the Lindell Yachts product line currently, a 38′, 42′, and 46′.

C-MAP: East Coast Charts Now Shipping
C-MAP said its C-MAP Reveal charts for the East Coast are now shipping. C-MAP Reveal cartography offers all the navigation data and capability of a C-MAP MAX-N+ card, plus ultra high-resolution bathymetric (HRB) imagery of the sea floor, including a clear view of structure, wrecks, isolated reefs and ledges in between the contour lines.The C-MAP Reveal imagery replaces shaded-relief data in select areas with more accurate depth variations, allowing it to reveal the best fishing and diving spots.
Indian Sailor Rescued from Yacht Stranded off Australia
An Indian sailor injured in a solo round-the-world race has been rescued, the Indian Navy said on Monday, after Australian authorities said a French ship was nearing his storm-damaged yacht off Australia's west coast.The sailor, Abhilash Tomy, called for emergency assistance on Saturday after the yacht was badly damaged in a storm about 3,500 km (2,175 miles) west of Australia, leaving him with severe back injuries."Tomy rescued safely," the Indian Navy said on Twitter, without giving further details.Earlier…

Boating industry bikers from across the country are throttling up this weekend for the official launch of "Pacific Coast Rush," a week-long escorted motorcycle tour from Seattle, WA to San Francisco, CA, including a two-day swing down to Big Sur and Monterey. Queen Mary 2 Skips Wellington
Mega-cruise ship Queen Mary 2 has ditched its Wellington visit with the capital in sight on account of heavy swells caused by Cyclone Pam. The Queen Mary 2 was due in Wellington this morning after spending time in the Marlborough Sounds, but 8-metre swells at the entrance to the harbour meant it was too risky. The vessel has a deep draft which doesn't leave much margin for error, harbourmaster Mike Price told said. The 345-metre long ship, which can carry more than 3000 passengers, was sailing on to Auckland via the west coast to avoid the rough seas created by Pam, he said.

Piracy Offshore Africa: Securing a Continent
The late Nelson Mandela once said: “I dream of an Africa which is in peace with itself.” At the EU-Africa summit in Brussels last month, European leaders urged their African counterparts to facilitate that dream by shouldering more of the security burden in their countries, both onshore and offshore.
