Galati Yacht Sales, in Anna Maria, Florida, recently increased their yard’s lifting capacity to 187,000 lbs. with the installation of a new 85 BFMII mobile boat hoist from Marine Travelift. Marine Fuel Tank Sweeper
The #9040PN Marine Fuel Tank Sweeper from Innovative Products of America (IPA) removes water, impurities and sludge from fuel tanks and bilges. Durable, 25 GPM pneumatic-diaphragm pump, 30 micron particulate blocking and 10 micron water blocking filters with clear sight glass, quickly and efficiently remove contaminants, dirt, water, algae and sludge from marine fuel tanks. The #9040PN has a three-way ball valve, allowing users to bypass the filters for bulk transfer of fuel or water. Once transferred, the filters can be switched back on to remove finer particles and polish the fuel.
MTN Launches Live HDTV At Sea
MTN Communications (MTN) has announced another maritime industry first with the launch of its high-definition live television service at sea, MTN Worldwide TV HD (MTN-TV HD). “MTN-TV HD delivers an amazing viewing experience onboard,” said Graham Douglas, media and communications manager, P&O Cruises and Cunard. “We can now experience TV at sea like we can at home. Mercury Marine Launches Repower Financing
Mercury Marine launched a new repower finance program that aims to make it easier for consumers to get the engine performance they want with flexible financing for a broad range of buyers. The Mercury Repower Finance program is funded by Medallion Bank, a marine industry leader that specializes in accepting buyers with a wide range of credit histories. Program administration is handled by Brunswick Financial Services, a fully owned subsidiary of Brunswick Corporation, the worldwide marine manufacturing leader.

For inland operators, Compliance, Safety & Technology make for heavy river traffic as software providers descend on a rapidly approaching, potentially lucrative niche market. Is there a panacea for subchapter M? Pending USCG Subchapter “M” (SubM) regulations will eventually require towing operators to implement safety standards and use safety management systems, or alternatively, allow for an annual Coast Guard inspection regime. The new rules are expected to allow towing vessel organizations to customize their approach to meeting the requirements, while providing oversight using audits, inspections, and reviews of safety data.
