Seakeeper Unveils New Gyrostabilizer Models

Seakeeper has launched two new gyrostabilizer models the Seakeeper 10.5 and the Seakeeper 14, designed for vessels ranging from 50 feet to 68 feet long.The Seakeeper 10.5, engineered for boats 50-62 feet, evolved from its two predecessors, the Seakeeper 9 and the inaugural M7000 and offers 17% more angular momentum in 23% less volume.The Seakeeper 14, suited for boats 55-68 feet, bridges a gap in the current lineup between the Seakeeper 9 and the Seakeeper 18. The new model is is 43% smaller and 33% lighter than the Seakeeper 18.

SeaKeeper For Center Consoles

The Contender 35 ST made a splash by becoming Seakeeper's new demo boat and the first vessel to have a Seakeeper 3DC - the first battery-powered Seakeeper. While sea trialing in the ultimate weather conditions - 3 foot significant wave height, winds at 15 knots with gusts up to 30 knots and a NOAA small craft advisory in effect - the Seakeeper 3DC produced a 94% reduction in roll. Deep V hull forms offer a great ride while underway, but can suffer inherent instability at slow speed or rest. The sea trial of the Contender 35 ST demonstrated that by adding a Seakeeper you can remove the principal drawback to deep V hull forms.

Weego Introduces Jump Starter Battery+

Weego launched the compact and portable Jump Starter Battery+ for the marine market. Weego is pocket sized and capable of starting boats, cars, trucks, motorcycles, ATVs and more, as well as charging phones, tablets, speakers and other USB devices. Easy to use, each Weego model includes jumper cables that can be attached to the terminals of a dead battery. Easy to follow instructions are printed on the back for quick reference. To start, boaters simply connect the clamps to the battery terminals, connect the cable to the Jump Starter Battery+, turn the power on and start the engine.

FLIR Systems released three new sonars and two new thermal cameras that have one goal in mind: making your time on the water safer and more enjoyable than ever. With FLIR’s thermal imaging technology, the new M400 stabilized multi-sensor thermal camera, and handheld Ocean Scout  thermal camera, give boaters ability to spot other vessels, avoid collisions, and stay safe on the water by seeing clearly in total darkness and in bad weather.

The rescueME EPIRB1 has been developed by Ocean Signal. Featuring a 30% reduction in size compared to other EPIRBs, a 10-year battery life and a retail price that makes it one of the most affordable Class 2 GPS EPIRBs in the market, the rescueME EPIRB1 provides the boat’s essential link to emergency services. The new rescueME EPIRB1 measures just 178mm (height with antenna stowed) by 89mm and weighs 422g. The EPIRB1 is designed to be automatically activated once the unit has been immersed in water.

Prospec Debuts JBL Receiver

Continuing to grow its line of innovative products, Prospec Electronics introduces a new JBL receiver, the JBLPRV175. The round unit features Bluetooth audio streaming and AM/FM radio. Seaview Launches New Sail and Deck Pods

Seaview launched new sail and deck pods that they say offer a flexible, sturdy and uniform mounting solution for convenient viewing of navigation electronics. The boxes are sold with either clamps or a rotating base. The current market does not have a sail or deck pod with the ability to add instruments, so Seaview has solved this problem by designing a single instrument box that can be added to any new sail or deck pod, the company said. Expanding on Seaviews modular mount concept, Seaview has another sail and deck pod design.
