Spain Sets Sights on SailGP after China Jumps Ship
China has dropped out of the 2020 series of SailGP, its organizers said on Tuesday, with Spain stepping aboard their vacant F50 foiling catamaran to race for a $1 million prize."We were unfortunately not granted the permissions necessary to continue operating the team within our existing structure," SailGP CEO Russell Coutts said in a statement detailing the change in line-up for the 2020 circuit.SailGP said last week that Denmark would compete in its second series, bringing the total number of entries to seven.

New Docks for Americas Cup Base in Bermuda
SF Marina Systems USA announced it has provided docks for the Cup base in Bermuda. A provider of concrete floating structures including concrete docks and floating breakwaters, SF Marina Systems installed the first dock system in the Dockyards area for the Oracle team’s support boats and the racing catamarans. The Dockyards location has constant commercial activity going on as it acts as one of Bermuda’s commercial ports. As a result, portions of the dock system need to be periodically removed to allow the berthing of large ships.
Boeing Participate in Racing Yacht Recyling Project
Boeing and Oracle Team USA (winner of the 34th America's Cup) are collaborating to recycle 7,000 pounds (about 3,175 kilograms) of carbon fiber of USA-71, a yacht built for the America's Cup campaign in 2003. The hull and mast of the racing yacht will be processed and repurposed, a first-of-its-kind effort for what will likely be the largest carbon structure ever recycled. A rudder from ORACLE TEAM USA's AC72 racing catamarans will be displayed at Mack Boring & Parts Company's Yanmar booth at the United States Sailboat Show in Annapolis. The 12' high carbon fiber rudder was transported from San Francisco following ORACLE TEAM USA's memorable come from behind win in the 34th America's Cup competition. The rudder will stand in the Mack Boring booth for the duration of the show, Oct. 10-14.
