Ocean Signal Debuts RescueME EPIRB1

The rescueME EPIRB1 has been developed by Ocean Signal. Featuring a 30% reduction in size compared to other EPIRBs, a 10-year battery life and a retail price that makes it one of the most affordable Class 2 GPS EPIRBs in the market, the rescueME EPIRB1 provides the boat’s essential link to emergency services. The new rescueME EPIRB1 measures just 178mm (height with antenna stowed) by 89mm and weighs 422g. The EPIRB1 is designed to be automatically activated once the unit has been immersed in water.

Ocean Signal Appoints True Heading as Sweden Distributor

Ocean Signal appointed True Heading, a company with more than 40 years of experience in navigation and AIS (Automatic Identification System), as its dedicated country distributor for Sweden. True Heading has been developing AIS standards and translating them into practical products for several years. True Heading will have key responsibility for increasing sales of Ocean Signal’s SafeSea portfolio, which includes the V100 GMDSS hand-held radio, as well as the E100 and E100G EPIRBS and S100 SART. The company also distributes Hemisphere GPS and thermal imaging cameras from FLIR.

Ocean Signal Launches New PLB at Miami Boat Show

Ocean Signal introduced the Personal Locator Beacon, the rescueME PLB1, at the Progressive Miami International Boat Show and Strictly Sail. Developed to fit on to any lifejacket and easily activated by one hand,operation of the rescueME PLB1 is simple. All that is required to activate the PLB is for the antenna to be extended, the protective cover flipped up and the button pressed. The retractable antenna and flip-up cover have been specifically designed to prevent inadvertent use.
