ABB’s Azipod for superyacht Tuhura

ABB’s Azipod propulsion will power Oceanco’s visionary superyacht inspired by Polynesian canoes and outfitted with the latest technology. Perfectly suited to the canoe form, ABB’s contra-rotating Azipod technology achieves a 10 percent propulsion efficiency improvement. The ABB technology has become the industry standard in the cruise segment since its launch in 1990. Tuhura made waves on its launch by Dutch superyacht builder Oceanco at last month’s Dubai International Boat Show 2018. Oceanco’s visionary vessel has been conceived in collaboration with the Lobanov Design Studio, naval architect BMT Nigel Gee and interior designer Achille Salvagni.

ISS Sailboat Regatta Will Benefit Cancer Victims

The ISS (International Superyacht Society) annual UK-based Regatta on the Solent will benefit the 'Sail 4 Cancer' charity. This year’s event will be held from June 7-9. 2013. Last year’s winner, BMT Nigel Gee will return to defend their title. With eight boats already confirmed, 12 to 15 are expected. Racers convene in Hamble on the evening of June 7th, spend the night on June 8th in Cowes and conclude racing on June 9th. Participating companies will rent one-design boats from Fairview and crew them with staff, vendors and clients.

Ship Registry Passenger Yacht Code Collaboration

BMT Nigel Gee collaborates with Cayman Island Shipping Registry to share industry knowledge and insight.
