Christmas Boat Parades Celebrate the Magic of the Season

It was not a silent night nor was a single star in sight, but the sky was bright - full of lights and blaring music and revelry as sailors celebrated Christmas on the water in New Orleans, La. on Saturday, December 15.Yachting Journal enjoyed reporting live from the 26th annual West End Christmas Boat Parade. Meet the Seabreacher Semi-Submersible.

Exotic marine toys abound at Winterfest Boat parade kickoffWith a yellow seahorse logo that resembles a Ferrari, Seabreacher’s Seararri semi-submersible made quite the splash on the New River during the kickoff for Fort Lauderdale’s Winterfest Boat Parade.With amazing demonstrations rising above the water and thrusting into the air like a bird, the Seabreacher can vector thrust, rising 25-feet high, out of the water. At 18-feet long, she seats two in an enclosed cockpit and runs 60 mph on the water.

‘The Beast’ Begins Work at Lauderdale Marine Center

The United States’ largest yacht repair facility Lauderdale Marine Center (LMC) announce that the boatyard's massive, new travel lift, nicknamed The Beast, has begun hauling boats from the New River onto the yard for service. Built by Italian manufacturer Cimolai, it stands over five stories tall and 47 feet wide. Painted bright green, The Beast is now one of three lifts in operation in the South Florida area with capacity over 400 tons and is the largest lift on the New River, the heart of South Florida's yachting repair community.

New Propeller Shop at Lauderdale Marine Center

Bradford Marine, Inc. has expanded its Lauderdale Marine Center presence with a new Propeller Shop in Bay #105. Since 2009, Bradford Marine has offered full service compliment to yachts at the Lauderdale Marine Center located 2 miles east on the New River from Bradford Marine's headquarters. The Propeller Shop has the capabilities to recondition propellers ranging from 8 inches to 8 feet. Certified welders on-site provide welding for stainless steel, bronze and nibral propellers. “The opening of the Propeller Shop is an added convenience for yachts based at Lauderdale Marine Center.

Service in Full Swing at Denison Yacht Sales

Denison's Service Division, located in Fort Lauderdale at Marina Bay on the New River, has grown quickly since 2011. There are now 15 yachts in the company's service program including many models from Beneteau Powerboats ranging from 28 feet to 76 feet; Austin Parker; Greenline Hybrid; Monte Carlo Yachts and Buddy Davis. The company handles service work for most brands. Denison Yacht Sales formed its Service Division following the company's 2011 appointment as an official dealer for Beneteau Powerboats to handle the new yachts that it took into stock.
