Propspeed Names Myers VP of Sales Americas
Underwater foul-release coatings company Propspeed announced it has hired Chris Myers as Vice President of Sales Americas. In his new position, Myers is tasked with directing Propspeed’s sales efforts across the Americas, as well as growing and supporting Propspeed’s network of partner boat yards, marinas, applicators and distributors.A marine industry insider for nearly two decades, Myers he has been professionally involved in all aspects of the field, including stints with boat and product manufacturers, holding positions predominantly in sales and finance.

MarineMax promotes from within to name Jay Wissman as new Service Manager for Wrightsville Beach, NC. Wissman has worked in the boating industry since the age of 15. He began as a dockhand and continued to improve his skill set to include bottom painter, forklift operator, towboat Captain, and yard hand. Wissman joined MarineMax as the External Service Advisor in 2013 where he became a recognizable face to many of the Wrightsville Beach customers.

MarineMax has announced that Bryan Riley has been promoted to Regional Service and Parts Manager of Midwest and North Florida stores.Riley grew up in Omaha, Nebraska and moved to the Lake of the Ozarks in 1989. He began his career in the Marine industry in 1993 when he started working at Port Arrowhead Marina as a Delivery Captain and later as Service Manager. Port Arrowhead Marina joined the MarineMax family in 2006 and afterward, Riley became the Operations Manager. Along with his wife and two children, he enjoys boating and all watersports.
Kramer Promoted to MarineMax District President of North Florida
MarineMax has promoted Aaron Kramer to District President of North Florida. In this position, he will oversee all MarineMax stores in North Florida including MarineMax Gulf Shores, MarineMax Pensacola, and MarineMax Panama City Beach.Kramer joined MarineMax in 2012 at MarineMax Houston. He has gradually moved through increasing roles of responsibility eventually managing MarineMax Gulf Shores. Recreational boat and yacht retailer MarineMax announced that the company’s Board of Directors has promoted W. Brett McGill to Chief Executive Officer and he will continue to serve as President.William H. McGill, Jr., the company’s prior Chief Executive Officer and Chairman, has been named Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors.Brett McGill served as MarineMax’s President and Chief Operating Officer beginning in October 2017 after serving as Chief Operating Officer from October 2016 and as Executive Vice President Operations from October 2015.
MarineMax Acquires Boston Area Marina
MarineMax has expanded its presence in the Northeast by acquiring the Boston area Bay Pointe Marina located on the Town River in Quincy, Mass.“Bay Pointe Marina is a well-established, full service, 11-acre site with 247 wet slips, 50-ton Travelift, for boats to 65 feet, and capacity for 300 winter storage boats,” stated Alex Russo, MarineMax General Manager. A 300-seat restaurant, known as Bay Pointe Waterfront, is also located on-site.“MarineMax will be relocating from its current home in Dorchester by October 1, 2018,” said Larry Russo, Jr. MarineMax Northeast Regional President.

MarineMax, Inc., recreational boat and yacht retailer, has announced that it has completed the acquisition of substantially all of the assets of Hall Marine Group. Hall Marine was founded in the mid 1970’s by Rod and Fran Hall. With fiscal 2016 revenue exceeding $50 million, Hall Marine is one of the largest privately-owned boat dealers in the Southeast. Hall Marine operates through six locations covering the following markets: Charlotte, North Carolina; Lake Wylie, Greenville, Columbia and Charleston, South Carolina; and Savannah, Georgia. The locations include two large marinas and four highway locations.
