Marine Jet Power Hires Tegström as CEO
Swedish-based waterjet propulsion systems supplier Marine Jet Power (MJP) said it has appointed Jonas Tegström as chief executive officer to succeed interim CEO Claes Rudling, who will resume his position on the board of directors.Tegström brings more than 20 years of senior management experience, including strategic development, plan execution and manufacturing expertise. Most recently Tegström served as the CEO of Orio AB, the former after sales company of SAAB Automobile, where he led a major restructuring.“I am honored and excited to join the MJP team,” Tegström said.
Yanmar, Nauti-Craft Ink Tech Transfer Deal
Yanmar and Nauti-Craft entered into a technology transfer agreement with the purpose of commercializing Yanmar’s boats by utilizing Nauti-Craft’s patented marine suspension technology.Cooperation between Yanmar and Nauti-Craft began in 2016 with Yanmar evaluating the technology by constructing a 10-meter Suspension Boat concept. Virginia's Marine Industry Hosts Annual Conference
The Virginia Marine Trades Association’s (VTMA) fifth annual conference was held on the Virginia Institute of Marine Science's campus in Gloucester Point, Va. The conference is held each year to give those working in the marine industry a chance to learn from national and local experts as well as their peers. With more than 60 in attendance, this week’s event exceeded crowds from past years. This year's speakers were from national groups such as the Marine Retailers Association of America, National Marine Manufacturers, American Boat and Yacht Council, MYMIC Marine Technologies and NJ Sea Grant.
