Metal Shark Launches Expedition Yacht Portfolio

U.S.-based shipbuilder Metal Shark has launched a 48-meter (158’) aluminum catamaran expedition yacht, the first in its newly introduced lineup of high-speed, long range catamaran expedition yachts.The new Metal Shark M48, named Magnet, is the first-ever private recreational yacht built by Metal Shark, a diversified builder of aluminum and steel vessels for military and commercial operators worldwide. In addition to the M48, the company’s Metal Shark Yachts portfolio includes the M30 (30 meters / 100’) and M70 (70 meters / 231’).

GFCI Receptacles Provide Added Safety Afloat

The American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) recommends using ground fault protected receptacles where there's potential for water exposure, such as heads, galleys, machinery spaces or a weather deck. Fully compliant with the newest UL 943 Standards, the Hubbell Marine GFCI duplex receptacle automatically monitors ground fault circuit interrupting functionality every 3 hours or less. If an event occurs, it interrupts the power supply and limits the duration of any electrical current flow. After tripping, the receptacle is reset by pushing a button on its face.

Dometic Debuts Engineering Team for Ship-wide Ventilation

Dometic Marine, a division of Dometic Group, a global provider of leisure products for the RV, Marine and CPV (Commercial and Passenger Vehicle) markets, today announced that it has entered a strategic partnership with Livos Technologies Inc., a provider of engine room ventilation equipment and systems for the commercial and pleasure boat markets.
