Brunswick to Acquire Power Products Businesses
Mercury Marine’s parent company, Brunswick Corporation entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Power Products – Global Marine & Mobile, which includes the global marine, specialty vehicle, mobile, industrial power, and transportation aftermarket products businesses of Power Products. Brands included are: Ancor, BEP, Blue Sea Systems, Czone, Del City, Lenco Marine, Marinco, Mastervolt, Park Power, Progressive Industries, and ProMariner.Power Products is a privately held company based in Menomonee Falls, WI, owned by Genstar Capital.
Mercury Introduces V-6 FourStroke Outboards
Mercury Marine has introduced its new V-6 FourStroke outboard family and the expansion of its SeaPro commercial line at the 2018 Miami International Boat Show. The new engine family, which builds on Mercury’s 75-150hp FourStroke outboards, features 175hp, 200hp and 225hp FourStroke outboards and a V-6 200hp SeaPro commercial outboard. The new Mercury FourStroke and SeaPro outboards are built on Mercury’s new 3.4-liter V-6 platform, which is designed to be powerful, light, compact and fuel-efficient. The new V-6 engines are precision engineered from skeg to cowl.
Mercury Marine Donates Boats, Engines to Harvey Relief Effort
Mercury Marine, in an effort to help in the recovery mission in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, said it has donated multiple boats and engines to the affected areas. This week, Mercury deployed 30, 6hp outboard engines as well as 10 inflatable boats to be sent to the command center in Texas. In addition, the company donated a 40hp outboard engine to Boots on the Ground, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering veterans and qualified civilians to provide in-field emergency and primary medical care. The state command center in Texas has also identified the scarcity of life jackets.
Mercury Marine Ties-up with Supratechnic
Mercury Marine that it has entered in to an exclusive distribution agreement with Supratechnic Pte Ltd, one of the largest marine distributors in Asia, based out of Singapore. This partnership will allow Mercury to expand and build a regional distribution channel in Southeast Asia that will include all of Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and Brunei. "This new relationship will allow Mercury to further penetrate the commercial market in Asia, giving us the opportunity to grow both in product range and territorial expansion," said John Pfeifer, Mercury Marine president.
Mercury Marine in Expanded Partnership with Chaparral
Mercury Marine, the world's leading manufacturer of recreational marine propulsion engines, has announced an expanded partnership with Chaparral to include the Robalo brand. The partnership will focus on Mercury's world-class outboard product offerings and give Robalo customers the opportunity to experience the power of Mercury Marine and continue the engine manufacturer's growth in key saltwater markets. Mercury Marine Expands Manufacturing Capacity
Mercury Marine is adding a 53,000 square foot manufacturing capacity expansion to its global headquarters in Fond du Lac, Wisc. The expansion will consist of 45,000 square feet of manufacturing capacity and an additional 8,000 square feet of office space. In addition, Mercury is investing in state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment to better streamline the manufacturing process and meet the growing demands in the marketplace. The new space will be completed in January, 2017. “This is an exciting time for Mercury Marine,” said John Pfeifer, Mercury Marine president.
Mercury Marine's New Engine has Power to Spare
Mercury MerCruiser’s new 6.2-liter V-8 300hp and 350hp sterndrive engines, which are purpose-built specifically for marine use, deliver increased power and torque while providing a remarkably quiet and smooth ride. “With the introduction of our new 6.2-liter V-8 sterndrive engines, Mercury continues to build on its success of designing and manufacturing propulsion systems that deliver the most intuitive, powerful, worry-free, smooth and quiet boating experience,” said John Pfeifer, president of Mercury Marine.
Mercury Marine Begins HQ Expansion
Mercury Marine will add a 45,000 square foot expansion to its electro-deposition paint (EDP) system that will double its current processing capabilities. The current project will be complete by January 2016 and the new system will be operational by Q4, 2016. “We are developing a new state of the art coating system that gives our engines superior corrosion and warranty protection,” said John Pfeifer, Mercury Marine president. “This process enforces our ability to make a better product for our customers who expect extreme reliability in their Mercury engines.
