John Deere Rolls Out Trio of Marine Engines

John Deere Power Systems has expanded its lineup with three new marine engines available for order from early 2018. The new 4.5L PowerTech 4045SFM85 offers high power to weight ratio for repowering and new vessel construction, and is ideal for planing and semi-displacement hulls, the manufacturer said. It has two ratings for light-duty commercial vessels, high-speed governmental applications and high-speed pleasure craft, which includes an M4 rating with 205 kW (275 hp) at 2,600 rpm and M5 rating with 235 kW (315 hp) at 2,800 rpm. Kadey-Krogen Yachts Expands Expedition Series

From the keel up, the Krogen 64’ Expedition and Krogen 68’ Expedition were designed by Kadey-Krogen Yachts to be handled comfortably by two people, yet also have a dedicated crew space. Both models are available in two, three or four cabin versions with two or three heads. Rugged, salty and with phenomenal sea keeping ability, these good-looking boats define quality and excellence in their class. Furthermore, the new models mark a “bigger” direction for the yacht builder. In fact, a Krogen 80’ Expedition is currently in the early stages on the Kadey-Krogen Yachts drawing board.

First MTU Powered Boat Monitored by GPLink

GPLink’s remote monitoring equipment has been installed on hundreds of Cat powered vessels throughout the world. The company has recently announced that its product has received its first integration on a non-Caterpillar power package. In March, Spencer Yachts splashed their latest build, an 87-foot sportfish yacht named Bangarang, equipped with twin MTU M94 2600 horsepower diesels capable of propelling this mammoth vessel to a cruising speed of 40 knots. These powerful engines are also the first MTUs to receive the GPLink Remote Monitoring system.
