CG Searches for Mariner Off Jamaica

The Coast Guard is searching for a missing mariner Tuesday approximately 146 miles southeast of Kingston, Jamaica.Watchstanders at Coast Guard 7th District Command Center received a report from master of the sailing vessel Cinnamon Girl that a 71-year-old crewmember was went overboard.The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Vigilant (WMEC-617) was diverted by the watchstanders to search.No further information is available at this time.

Royal Caribbean Announces Winter 2015-16 Schedule

Four of the Regions Largest and Most Innovative Cruise Ships to Sail from Port Everglades and Port Canaveral. The cruise line has announced that Allure of the Seas, Oasis of the Seas, Freedom of the Seas and Serenade of the Seas will sail the Caribbean from convenient Florida homeports for the winter 2015-16 season, which are now open for sale. Sister-ships Allure of the Seas and Oasis of the Seas will offer vacationers still-matched Caribbean cruises in the 2015-16 winter season. Both ships will homeport at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

AIDS Fighting Rowboat Readies for Next Mission

The Spirit of Malabo, a 24’ foot Brazilian built ocean rowboat, was hoisted from the Jamaica Bay at Gateway Marina early and rolled on a cradle with Service Caster wheels. The vessel will be used to promote voluntary HIV testing during a transatlantic row from the Canary Islands to New York with a resupply in the British Virgin Islands later this year.
