4G Connect: Internet Afloat for Commercial Users

Now available in most coastal areas, 4G LTE cellular connectivity provides a very effective, low cost and fast solution for internet connectivity while in port or coastal waters when users want fast access for entertainment and browsing. Digital Yacht said its new 4G Connect solution is geared for workboat, ferry and utility users as well as commercial ships, is simple to fit and can offer ranges of up to 20NM offshore with super-fast connect speeds. Priced at £499 ex vat, the 4G Connect Pro system is available now and ships with two 45cm external antennas and uses MIMO technology.

WebWatch Antenna Delivers on-Board Connectivity

WebWatch, the all-in-one Wi-Fi hotspot, cellular data and high-definition television (HDTV) antenna from Shakespeare, shares signals for up to 32 on-board users. WebWatch delivers Internet with speeds up to 4G from a nearby Wi-Fi hotspot or cellular network with a user-supplied data-only SIM card. It provides greater range than a mobile device or laptop. The integrated receiver switches automatically between Wi-Fi signals and cellular data to maintain and optimize Internet connectivity. WebWatch is easily managed through a web browser or free mobile app.

GOST Unveils Marine Security Video Recording Device

GOST (Global Ocean Security Technologies), now in its 10th year as a developer of marine security, tracking, monitoring and video surveillance systems, announced today the release of its next generation security video solution, the GOST Watch HD Internet Video Recorder (IVR). The new video recording system features a four terabyte hard drive – designed to capture and store video on a modern yacht – that is capable of continuously recording and storing 90 days of video from up to six cameras.
