The Coast Guard saved three mariners aboard a disabled sailing vessel more than 50 miles east southeast of Cape Lookout, Saturday evening.At 9:45 a.m., watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector North Carolina received notification of the 36-foot disabled sailing vessel Cloud from Sea Tow. Three Sailors Rescued 1,200 miles off Cape Cod

The U.S. Coast Guard coordinated a rescue of three sailors approximately 1,200 miles east of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, at approximately 2 p.m., Thursday. Watchstanders from the 1st Coast Guard District command center in Boston were notified at approximately 6 a.m., Thursday, of a 406MHz emergency position indicating radio beacon signal registered to the 42-foot French-flagged sailing vessel Tao with three men aboard. A Coast Guard Air Station Elizabeth City, North Carolina, HC-130 Hercules aircraft crew currently deployed to St. John's, Nova Scotia, immediately launched to locate the Tao.

USCG, Navy Responding to Disabled Sailboat off Va.

The Coast Guard is responding to a disabled sailboat with four people aboard in the Atlantic Ocean Tuesday approximately 300 miles east of Cape Henry, Va. A representative from the manufacturer of the Be Good Too, a 42-foot sailboat, contacted the Coast Guard at approximately 1:30 p.m. Monday, reporting the Be Good Too was disabled and adrift during its transit from New York to the British Virgin Islands. "Last night we spoke with the Be Good Too crew and based on the forecasted weather, they decided they were willing to depart their vessel around 5 p.m. Monday," said Matthew Brooks, a Coast Guard 5th District Command Center command duty officer.
