Evinrude E-TEC Engines Now Australian Compliant

BRP announced today its Evinrude E-TEC engines are compliant to new Australian emissions standards. Australian exhaust emissions standards for outdoor power equipment and marine engines were finalized in December, 2017. The standards will be phased in to allow the industry time to transition.As of July 1, 2018, new high polluting outdoor power equipment and marine engines, such as conventional carbureted two-stroke outboard engines, can no longer be imported into Australia. By July 1, 2019 only clean-technology outdoor power equipment andmarine engines can be supplied to the Australian market.

Boston Whaler Awarded for Customer Satisfaction

Boston Whaler has been recognized again for its customer service, earning a Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) Award from the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) for the eleventh year in a row. One of 46 recipients nationwide to receive the award, Boston Whaler was recognized in the Fiberglass Outboard Boats category during the 2014 International BoatBuilders Exhibition and Conference (IBEX). Tech Development (TDI) introduces its new TurboFlow Air Regulator which the company says dramatically improves air delivery to the start system. Caterpillar Marine Power Systems Extends Parts Warranty

All Cat brand parts utilized in marine applications are now covered for one year. Caterpillar Marine Power Systems is pleased to announce it has increased the warranty on Cat Brand Parts used in all marine applications from six months to one year. The warranty covers all parts used in Cat  marine engines, Cat marine generator sets, Cat branded marine control systems and Cat marine transmissions. The extended coverage applies to all parts sold or utilized in service work on or after June 1, 2012. Of note, there will be no additional cost to customers for this significant extension of warranty protection.

Caterpillar, FPT Sign Agreement

Caterpillar Incorporated and FPT Industrial S.p.A. announce an agreement in the field of marine pleasure craft engines. According to the new agreement, combining the vast marine know-how of Caterpillar and the leading edge technology of FPT Industrial, the new Cat C8.7 and Cat C12.9, with a displacement of 8.7 and 12.9 liters respectively, will offer yacht manufacturers a broad array of horsepower ratings ranging from 650 to 1000 mhp. In order to meet customers’ unique requirements, each engine will be offered in several different configurations; all will conform to Tier 3 emissions regulations.
