Cruise Interior Expo Draws Leaders
Cruise Ship Interiors Expo, a focused event dedicated exclusively to interior design, architecture, and outfitting for the cruise industry, announced its first conference session to kick off the inaugural two-day event. Professionals at the forefront of the industry will share their expertise in ‘Cruise Industry Outlook: Leaders Debate’, on Wednesday, June 19, 2019.This conference session will focus on the newbuild order book, discussing how shipyards can respond to capacity issues, challenges around recruiting staff, economical concerns, and growth in the expedition market.
Carnival Cruise Line Shuffles Ships
A few weeks after Carnival Cruise Line announced plans to move the Carnival Liberty and Breeze to Galveston, the cruise line announced the future homes of the Carnival Triumph, Elation, and Fascination. The moves will take place in 2016. The Carnival Triumph will re-position to New Orleans and join the Carnival Dream in April 2016. Carnival officials say that because a cruise from New Orleans is more than just a cruise. The city itself is an attraction. "People love coming here. They spend a lot of dollars in the city," said Carnival spokeswoman Jennifer de la Cruz.
Carnival Cruise Line Returns to Europe
Carnival Cruise Lines is to return to Europe next year with its biggest ship ever, the 3,936-passenger Carnival Vista. The Doral-based cruise line revealed details about the new 133,500-ton vessel. The ship, which starts sailing in May of 2016, will include the first IMAX Theatre at sea, an onboard brewery, a suspended open-air cycling ride called SkyRide and a family-focused hangout area. Indoor and outside seating will be available at some restaurants, a new feature for the line. For the first time in three years, Carnival will have a ship stationed in Europe when Vista launches in Italy.
Carnival Corp. to Invest $400m in Scrubber Technology
Carnival Corporation CEO Arnold Donald announced that Carnival will significantly extend its installation of exhaust gas cleaning technology, investing $400m in the coming three years to install the technology on 70 ships across its brand, a significant jump from the 32 announced last year. Carnival Expands in Australia
