Luxury houseboat manufacturer Bravada Yachts selected Volvo Penta as the propulsion provider of choice for the builder’s new Atlas V Series 80 x 22 custom lake houseboat, Invictus, located on Lake Powell, Arizona.Invictus marks several important “firsts” for Volvo Penta. Kramer Promoted to MarineMax District President of North Florida
MarineMax has promoted Aaron Kramer to District President of North Florida. In this position, he will oversee all MarineMax stores in North Florida including MarineMax Gulf Shores, MarineMax Pensacola, and MarineMax Panama City Beach.Kramer joined MarineMax in 2012 at MarineMax Houston. He has gradually moved through increasing roles of responsibility eventually managing MarineMax Gulf Shores. Four Missing, Nine Injured after Boats Crash Head-on
Divers searched the Colorado River in Arizona on Sunday for four people missing after two boats slammed head-on into each other, flinging all aboard into the water, sinking both vessels and injuring nine people, police said on Sunday.The collision happened on Saturday night near Arizona's border with California when a boat with 10 people and a craft carrying six people collided. Navico Hires Southwest US Sales Manager
Navico, a manufacturer of marine electronics and parent company to the Lowrance, Simrad and B&G brands, has appointed Scott Nagel as its new territory sales manager for the southwest U.S. Based in Mission Viejo, Calif., Nagel’s territory will cover California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico and Hawaii. Nagel has been in the industry for many years working as an independent sales representative for leading brands like Daiwa, Rapala, Flambeau, Penn, Beretta and Sig Sauer.
John Dane III Leaves His Mark
“The 2008 financial crash slowed the luxury business, and the new class warfare coming out of Washington has made owning a large yacht out of favor. In the more than two years since its founding, Mississippi-based TY Offshore, the former Trinity Offshore, has invested in a new yard in Gulfport and repaired its storm-damaged New Orleans holdings. The company has doubled its capacity and racked up new orders, president and CEO John Dane III said. TY Offshore designs and builds offshore barges, tugs, oilfield-support vessels and spill-response and patrol vessels. The company's new name, adopted in late June, should make business simpler.
