For Abeking & Rasmussen from Lemwerder, near Bremen, it was the construction number 6505 - but the 80 meter long yacht Excellence offers some special features: for example unusually large glass windows. Also the trade magazine "Superyacht Times" praised the yacht. Why?
Another spectacular yacht project was created at the Abeking & Rasmussen shipyard: On the last weekend in May, the futuristic 80-metre yacht Excellence was launched. The yacht has four decks and accommodations for 14 guests and 23 crew members.

The traditional shipbuilding company on the Weser brought "its construction number 6505" out of the building hall, lowered it to the water by lift - and gave the always interested regional public a glimpse of the noble vessel - the client and price of which, as usual, were not mentioned.
"We are very proud of this extraordinary yacht and our employees, who courageously mastered all the requirements," said Hans Schaedla, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the shipyard. “Never before had glass windows been installed in such dimensions." The unusual lines of the yacht also posed great challenges for the employees time and again. "Now we have developed and successfully completed this masterpiece and can hardly wait for it to be tested at sea," said Schaedla about the undocking of the Excellence.

"Superyacht Times" also praised the shipyard from Lemwerder. The appearance is "unique". Inside, guests can look forward to luxury such as a large swimming pool on the main deck. A "garage" for luxurious dinghies at water level was also mentioned.
On the outside, the Excellence is striking for its "striking sharp bow shape" and the "large reflective glass surfaces in the upper deck area", the shipyard said.

Owners, crew members and employees of the shipyard closely followed the launching of the yacht.
In the weeks that followed, final work was carried out on the shipyard's equipment pier, as well as the sea trials during which the yacht was put through its paces before being handed over to its owner.

The steel hull was designed by British firm Winch Design. The yacht, based on designs of the KIBO delivered by Abeking & Rasmussen in 2014, was built at a Polish shipyard in Stettin. In winter 2018 it was transferred to Lemwerder for completion.
