The Association of Marina Industries (AMI) has welcomed the Wisconsin Marine Association (WMA) as its newest membership partner. Now all WMA marina members will receive the additional benefit of being members of AMI in conjunction with their WMA membership. This means WMA members will now have access to all AMI services, products and benefits in addition to those they already receive from WMA.

The WMA was launched in March 2009 with the planning and support of several WI marina operators, the Wisconsin Harbor Towns Association, and funding support from the Wisconsin Department of Administration's Wisconsin Coastal Management Program. The initial focus of the WMA was on marinas on the two Great Lakes coasts. In 2011, the association expanded statewide.

This alliance will help both associations to extend their voice and reach. Through the new relationship with WMA, AMI will also increase the number of its affiliate relationships with state marine trade groups, which already includes the Midwest Marina Association, Virginia Marine Trades Association, Marina Association of Texas, Boating British Columbia, and Pacific Coast Congress of Harbormasters and Port Managers. Alliance relationships allow for an MTA's marina membership to join at a deep discount to regular member prices. Members of the new alliance will benefit from access to national networking, learning events, discounts on training, scholarship funding for education, and access to the latest industry news.
