After Irma, Golden Marine Systems Rebuilds Moss Marine
When Hurricane Irma tore through Florida last year, it left $53.4 billion of destruction in its path. Family-owned Moss Marine of Fort Myers Beach was one of the businesses devastated by the category five storm. Determined to rebuild its 49-year-old marina better than before, it chose Golden Marine Systems, a sister company of Golden Boat Lifts, to manufacture a state-of-the-art dock system.
The project consists of installing 7,500 sq. ft. of Golden Marine Systems' 950 double and 850 single e-track docking. Made of 6061 T6 marine-grade aluminum with stainless steel components, the innovative system allows for adjustable cleats, finger piers and pile guides. With rubber Flexi-Block Connectors, there's no creaking. Service troughs provide exceptional utility access. The decking and fascia board are a low-maintenance, long-life composite.
Golden Marine Systems led the project, coordinating everything from obtaining the permits to scheduling and overseeing the installation of the docks, utilities and fuel system. The scheduled completion date is November 2018.
With direct and unobstructed deep-water access, Moss Marine is a full-service marina located in Fort Myers Beach, Florida. It offers wet and dry storage, a fuel dock with competitive pricing, and boat repairs, rentals and sales. Shoreside, it offers a boater's lounge with laundry and showers, and a complete ship's store.
Golden Marine Systems engineers and manufactures custom aluminum and concrete dock systems, and gangways for private, commercial and municipal use in an ISO 9001:2015 facility. Each is designed for the specific site, with a balance of functionality and aesthetics. They come with a limited 10-year warranty.
